The Synergic Center, seeks to strategically partner with agencies working towards innovative efforts in Alabama. The main focus areas for Synergic are public safety, education, workforce development, cybersecurity, and local tourism.

The Tuscaloosa County Commission has played a substantial role in the establishment of Synergic. Probate Judge Rob Robertson, serves as the Director of Synergic Center.
During the Covid-19 epidemic, rather than closing down, Tuscaloosa County officials remained hard at work for their citizens. Not only running all daily operations, but planning for and pursuing new opportunities to assist the community in recovering from this unprecedented event.
Students are the future of Alabama so it is of utmost importance to ensure they have a education that prepares them best. Shelton State works to offer not only educate their students, but also to ensure they are able to apply that knowledge in today’s workforce.
Synergic is currently home to Shelton State’s adult upskilling, and childcare classes.
Innovate Alabama focuses on highlighting the present opportunities for workforce development in Alabama. Through innovative programs like Fuel AL, HBCU Innovation Experience, and Emerging Innovation Scholars, many efforts have been made to develop our state’s workforce.
The Synergic Center has been designated as an Innovate Alabama project and Tuscaloosa County was the fourth county to be included in the Innovate Alabama network.
The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office leads our county in public safety efforts. Thanks to a team who is community oriented, and dedicated to serving Tuscaloosa’s citizens, our community is made safer each day.
Under the leadership of Sheriff Ron Abernathy, TCSO has made great strides in improving the public safety sector in Tuscaloosa County. With additions such as Baki, a German short hair pointer dog able to find electronic devices, cases are able to be even more quickly and efficiently solved. Synergic is home to the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Cyber Unit.
West Alabama Works not only the premier workforce development entity for the West Alabama area, but also a leading agency in the state and nation. With a special focus on students and the development of practical values and skills, many successful efforts have been made to engage citizens with present workforce opportunities.
Some their most successful programs include the I.G.N.I.T.E Student Job Portal, Building Hope job portal, and Worlds of Work. Each program has a unique focus on engaging different citizen groups with workforce opportunities.
Thanks to the Tuscaloosa County Heritage Commission the unique and valuable history of our community is currently being digitized for further preservation. This also allows for the story of Tuscaloosa County to be more easily shared with its citizens.
The Synergic Center will feature Heritage Hall, focused on telling the rich history of Tuscaloosa County. The museum style, interactive displays will feature digitized records, photos, blueprints and more.

Tuscaloosa County Emergency Management Agency, is critical to the well being of Tuscaloosa citizens. Whether it is disaster recovery, classes for the public, weather alerts, or storm shelters, TC E.M.A, is constantly working to ensure that people are educated and prepared when disaster strikes.
Synergic is proud to aid in advancing these educational and operational efforts.
L.E.A.T. is one of the most valuable assets to our local law enforcement officers. They seek to provide sufficient and innovative training programs and resources, ensuring each officer and deputy has the tools necessary to protect their community.
Synergic will house L.E.A.T. and will include new classrooms, offices, and designated training areas.
The city of Northport is a key partner to the Synergic Center. With the facility being located within the city, there is great opportunity for mutually beneficial innovation efforts.
Located directly across from Synergic Center is Kentuck Park, owned by the city of Northport. The park is currently being transformed into the new Northport Shores Sports Complex to increase outdoor recreation opportunities for the community.
Synergic Institute is excited to partner with UA Museums! This collaboration will provide real world opportunities for students and faculty to offer the community professionally curated history exhibits.
UA Museums is a collection of multiple museums under a single administrative umbrella that stemmed from a reorganization in 1990.
In 2017 UA Museums joined the College of Arts and Sciences, The University of Alabama’s largest division and the academic core of the University.
