Synergic Center hosted Congressman Robert Aderholt’s Law Enforcement Summit for Alabama’s Fourth Congressional District on Wednesday February 19, 2025.
Although the center is not yet fully open, it was an honor to host Congressman Aderholt, united in our shared commitment to supporting the men and women who work tirelessly to keep our communities safe. The event brought together top law enforcement officials from 13 counties from across the district to enhance collaboration between local, state, and federal agencies. Discussions centered on some of the most pressing issues facing law enforcement today – illegal immigration, drug trafficking, funding, and cybercrime. Participating agencies from Tuscaloosa County were the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, Northport Police, University of Alabama Police, and Shelton State Community College Police Departments.
Along with Congressman Aderholt, Tuscaloosa County Probate Judge Rob Robertson and Sheriff Ron Abernathy co-hosted guest speakers from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Department of Homeland Security / Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE), Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) shared relative information. The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office also presented on their advanced crime prevention efforts in our community, including the innovative Deputy/Paramedic Program, K-9 Division, and Cyber Units.
“This summit is about bringing law enforcement officers together to share information, strengthen partnerships, and ensure that they have the resources they need to do their jobs effectively,” said Congressman Aderholt. “Illegal immigration and drug trafficking continue to be two of the biggest challenges for our law enforcement community, and cybercrimes are evolving at a rapid pace. We must remain vigilant and work together at every level to address these threats head-on.”
The event also addressed the latest advancements in policing technology, federal funding, opportunities, and the increasing dangers law enforcement officers face in the line of duty. Congressman Aderholt remains committed to ensuring our law enforcement officers are equipped with the proper resources, through advocating for policies and securing resources that lead to safer communities.
The Law Enforcement Summit provided a valuable opportunity for officers and officials to engage in critical conversations, brainstorm solutions, and strengthen relationships across multiple agencies. We are so thankful for the consistent leadership of Congressman Aderholt, and his commitment to law enforcement. The Synergic Center looks forward to hosting public safety related events that foster education and collaboration to bring innovative solutions to our community.
“Innovating together for a better tomorrow.”
