Almost to the finish line!

Over the past months, construction crews and county forces have made significant strides in transforming the Synergic Center into its next era of use.

A new building was constructed on the property to house Tuscaloosa County Central Maintenance and Warehousing. This facility features offices for all our tradesmen and administration, repair shops, and additional storage which is a first of its kind for county government.

Inside Synergic Center the new Law Enforcement Academy of Tuscaloosa is preparing to open. With all new classrooms, offices, and a conference area each designed to support the academy’s critical training efforts.

The new Regional Training Center has also taken shape preparing to host various strategic trainings and events. It features classrooms of various capacities along with an all-new auditorium that can accommodate up to 160 individuals at training tables. This auditorium will serve as an excellent venue for seminars, training sessions, conferences, and other such events. To support today’s technology-driven world, a second computer lab with height-adjustable desks is being added, providing a versatile learning environment. The interior has also undergone significant cosmetic upgrades, with lots of fresh paint and new flooring in parts of the building.

An important part of the center is the preservation of Tuscaloosa County’s rich history.  Inside the auditorium foyer and adjacent to the foyer you can stroll down Heritage Hall, the main hallway in the Synergic Center. Thanks to the Heritage Commission, the City of Tuscaloosa, UA Museums, and the Tuscaloosa County Probate team, artifacts and historical educational material will be displayed showcasing the county’s heritage. Interactive digital wall tablets and static wall panels offer engaging insights into the county’s past, present, and future!

The Center’s exterior has been significantly transformed and sports a new entryway awning with metal wall panel accents of modern blue, gray and silver as highlight next to new wall paint and stone cladding. Fresh landscaping and paving further sets off relaxing natural green spaces so common in Northport! A lighted fountain and flagpoles have also been added to enhance the entrance further creating a unique visiting experience.

These updates are truly transforming Synergic Center into a dynamic space that will help train tomorrow’s workforce to embrace next-era opportunities and challenges. We are incredibly thankful for progress the teams have made and are eager to open the doors officially soon. Tuscaloosa County remains excited to bring this effort online to foster collaboration, innovation, and education!
